U.S. Marine Corps recruits with Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion prepare and perform chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) defense training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., June 17, 2019.

Recruits are exposed to chlorobenzalmalononitrile tablets, commonly known as CS gas, in order to familiarize themselves with the use of a gasmask.
