The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness & Response (ASPR) has awarded a contract to First Light Biosciences, Inc. for “Rapid, Sensitive, and Cost-effective Anthrax test and Clinical Surge-Testing Platform.”
The contract has a base value of $5,528,873 plus potential options of up to an additional $37,429,837.
The award was made in response to Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) Broad Agency Announcement BARDA-BAA-13-100-SOL-00013.
First Light Biosciences, based in Bedford, Mass., develops automated medical diagnostic products for rapid, sensitive, and cost-effective biodetection, with a focus on Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI). The company’s proprietary MultiPath technology utilizes digital imaging to detect and count fluorescent targets without using magnification.
