Army Seeks Handheld Narcotics and Explosives Detectors

The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island Contracting Center (RICC) is seeking sources for handheld explosives and narcotics trace detectors.

The system must be ruggedized, lightweight, powered by rechargeable battery, conduct automated detection screening, and have an embedded GPS.

The detection system must be capable of detect the following explosives and narcotics:

  • Nitroarmatics
  • Nitramines
  • Nitrate Esters
  • Inorganic Nitrates
  • Peroxides
  • Perchlorates
  • Chlorates and Derivates
  • Able to detect the following narcotics:
  • Methamphetamine
  • Ecstasy (MDMA)
  • Cocaine
  • THC-Marijuana
  • Acid (LSD)
  • Opiates
  • Heroin
  • Ketamine
  • Synthetic cannabis

The RICC will use responses to the Request for Information to inform future acquisitions. Capability statements are requested by May 27, 2015. Further details are available via Solicitation Number: W52P1J-15-T-PP07.
