The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has issued a call for proposals for developing products to treat radiation injuries from exposures due to nuclear and radiological attacks or accidents.
The goal is for development of the Medical Countermeasures (MCM) to the stage where they are eligible for advanced product development by the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) or acquisition under the Project BioShield Act of 2004.
Research and development studies supported by this Request for Proposals (RFP) will advance candidate MCMs toward eventual FDA approval or licensure for acute radiation syndrome (ARS) or delayed effects of acute radiation exposure (DEARE).
Further details are available under Solicitation Number: RFP-NIAID-DAIT-NIHAI2014005.
