The University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute was recently awarded a Department of Defense (DoD) contract for research, development, testing, and evaluation services in the area of geophysical detection of nuclear proliferation.
The award is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a $46,730,000 ceiling for a DoD-wide University Affiliated Research Center (UARC). Funding will be executed at the task order level using operations and maintenance; and research, development, test and evaluation funds.
The UARC will be managed by the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Threat Reduction and Arms Control, reporting to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Defense programs.
The period of performance is a five-year ordering period.
