CBMS II Award to Hamilton Sundstrand

The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground has awarded a sole source Firm Fixed Price purchase order to Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation in support of the Chemical Biological Mass Spectrometer Block II (CBMS II).

The supplies required are Methyl Salicylate (MeS) Pens and Chemical Ground Probes (CGP). Hamilton Sundstrand has developed these supplies with specific part numbers for use with the CBMS II. The contract is valued at $122,447.

CBMS II is a vehicle-borne point detection and reconnaissance instrument that integrates chemical and biological warfare agent detection and identification into a single unit that is lighter, smaller, and less power-intensive than separate detectors.

The instrument is soldier-friendly in operation and self-diagnosing in fault location, and resists nuclear radiation, temperature extremes, vibration and shocks from wheeled vehicle transport.
