The Fifth Gilbert W. Beebe Webinar: Radiation Health
October 19, 2021 - October 20, 2021
The National Academies’ Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board is planning for two webinars on radiation health:
On October 19, 12-2 PM (ET) on cardiovascular effects at low doses of radiation.
On October 20, 12-2 PM (ET) on radon health effects.
The webinars will be part of the Gilbert W. Beebe Webinar Series. Agenda and registration information are forthcoming.
This meeting will be held entirely online.
The Gilbert W. Beebe Webinars are organized by Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board members and staff and are designed to promote discussions on ionizing and non-ionizing radiation health effects. The webinar series is an extension to the Gilbert W. Beebe Symposium established in 2002 to honor the scientific achievements of the late Dr. Gilbert W. Beebe (National Academy of Sciences; National Cancer Institute). Dr. Beebe was one of the designers and key implementers of the epidemiologic studies of populations exposed to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Chernobyl accident.
