Nuclear Deterrence Operations IR&D Technology Interchange

The 2016 Nuclear Deterrence Operations Independent Research & Development (NDO IR&D) Technology Interchange Meeting will be held May 16-20, 2016 at Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB), New Mexico.
The event is sponsored by the Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC), in partnership with the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) and the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).
Intending to engage with Industry’s nuclear deterrence community, the NDO team includes experts from the U.S. Northern Command, the Services (Army, Navy, and Air Force), the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), NASA, and other DoD Components.
The NDO SCF science and technology (S&T) taxonomy includes the following areas of significant interest:
- Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3)
- Strategic Deterrence – Ground (SDG)
- Strategic Deterrence – Air (SDA)
- Cross-Cutting Technologies
This NDO IR&D engagement has broad goals to increase two-way awareness, stimulate collaboration, and seek alignment between Industry’s IR&D innovation projects and DoD high priority technology needs and activity areas. The invitation is open to all Industry IR&D participants, including large and small businesses and academia.
The discussions will be in a classified setting – Collateral Secret as a minimum, with capability to ramp some dialogue into the Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) levels, by request and as needed.
