Integration of Contingency Planning for Small Airports

Proper contingency planning can help airports become resilient against disruptions.
The Transportation Research Board will host a webinar on 1 October 2024 that will provide an overview of disruptions and contingencies that can impact small airport operations, mutual aid agreements, and other internal and external plans.
Presenters will share research results and tools that were developed to address the unique needs of small airports in managing their contingencies.
Highlighted presentations include:
- Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA) to identify and prioritize planning – Shaun Germolus, Kissimmee Gateway Airport
- Implementation and communication tools – Julie Quinn, Quinn Williams
- Question and answer session moderated by Scott Corzine, Cohn Reznick
The first 60 minutes of the webinar will be for presentations and the final 30 minutes will be reserved for audience questions.
This webinar is approved by the American Planning Association (APA) for 1.5 Certification Maintenance (CM) Credits. CM credits provide continuing education opportunities for AICP Certified Planners to continue their professional skills and knowledge.
