The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Committee to Conduct a Feasibility of Assessing Veteran Health Effects of Manhattan Project (1942-1947) Related Waste will hold an information gathering meeting on May 8, 2024, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

This session will include presentations from Department of Energy Records Management, Oak Ridge National Laboratory Division of Nuclear and Radiation Protection, and the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) to describe potential sources and characteristics of data, records, and information on military veterans who participated in Manhattan Project activities at Oak Ridge.

No data will be collected or analyzed as part of this feasibility study, but this information will inform the committee’s report and conclusion regarding whether a full epidemiologic study can be conducted as directed in PL 117-168 (PACT Act).
