The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Committee to Conduct a Feasibility of Assessing Veteran Health Effects of Manhattan Project (1942-1947) Related Waste will hold an information gathering meeting on 19-20 September 2024 in Los Alamos, NM.
The meeting will include both public and closed discussions from an expert panel to describe potential sources and characteristics of data, records, and information on military veterans who participated in Manhattan Project activities at Los Alamos.
No data will be collected or analyzed as part of this feasibility assessment, but this information will inform the committee’s report and conclusion regarding whether a full epidemiologic study can be conducted as directed in PL 117-168 (PACT Act).
