Biography
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is the lead U.S. federal agency working to protect the environment by enforcing national pollution-control standards and facilitating research and development for environmental health, security and technologies.
Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the EPA employs over 18,000 people and has 10 regional offices located in: Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas City, Denver, San Francisco and Seattle.

Nearly half of the EPA’s budget goes into grants to state environmental programs, non-profits, educational institutions, and others.
