The U.S. Fire Administration’s (USFA) National Fire Academy (NFA), part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), has vacancies for the upcoming pilot course P0656 Fundamentals of HazMat Chemistry: Inorganic Compounds, Hydrocarbon Compounds, and Hydrocarbon Derivatives held at the National Emergency Training Center (NETC) Campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland, from March 9 to 14, 2025.
This pilot course will provide attendees with a basic understanding of chemical and physical properties of hazardous materials to support response to hazardous materials incidents. It is appropriate for all levels of emergency responders who may find themselves responding to and supporting hazardous materials incidents.
