Biography

Formerly known as the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD). Additional information available at archived profile.

The Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND) is the Joint Services single focal point for research, development, acquisition, fielding and life-cycle support of chemical and biological defense equipment and Food and Drug Administration-approved medical countermeasures.

Within the Joint Program Executive Office, five Joint Project Managers lead, manage, and direct the acquisition and fielding of chemical and biological detection and reconnaissance systems, individual and collective protection systems, decontamination systems, information management systems, medical devices, drugs and vaccines, and installation and force protection systems.

Each Joint Project Management Office leverages talent and expertise from across the services under a single chain of command, providing the cost-effective chemical and biological defense technology, equipment and medical countermeasures.

The JPEO-CBRND’s mission to provide the best CBRN technology and equipment – at the right place – at the right time – at the right cost is possible only with participation from one of our key partners, Industry. In support of the Joint Forces, Industry plays a vital role in supporting our Nation’s Defense.

The JPEO-CBRND contracting office has two focus areas; Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) and Other Transaction Agreements (OTA). MATOCs promote competition, save costs, encourage small business participation, minimize time to award and streamline documentation. The MATOCs are managed by the Omnibus Program Management Office.
