We are seeking a Graphics Illustrator for the U.S. Army Research Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) in Aberdeen, MD. ICON Government and Public Health specializes in preclinical through phase IV support of clinical research and clinical trial services for biologics, drugs, and devices.   • Meet on-site with scientific subject matter experts to discuss medical, scientific, and technical illustration needs, conduct background research necessary to understand the illustration needs and develop draft illustrations for editing and input from the scientific subject matter experts.
  • Finalize illustrations based on feedback from the scientific subject matter experts and complete illustration for use in presentations or marketing materials including 2D and 3D animations, for use in presentations and marketing materials.
  • Meet with COR, marketing team, scientific subject matter experts, and other staff as needed on site at USAMRICD to discuss illustration needs, review drafts, and receive confirmation of completed illustrations.
  • Provide completed illustrations as electronic files on CD or DVD and as hard copies, as appropriate

Candidates for positions under ICON Government and Public Health Solutions contracts with the Department of Defense (DoD) may be required to pass one or more background/security investigations conducted by the DoD, U.S. Army, or other Federal Government agency.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Laboratory/office environment; may require working evenings and weekends. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Work may involve long periods of standing and handling of numerous chemicals and/or hazardous biological material. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Experience

Required

The ability to function within a highly integrated team environment (must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills)

CBRNE medical and research programs

3 years: Experience in multimedia computer base education and training to include computer project assignments that require a range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques
